South Oceanview Run

South Oceanview Run

Read to Players

South of the Way Station, the road continues its winding path along the clifftop. The Valpin stretches endlessly to the west, its blue waters catching the light below sheer stone walls that drop away just beyond the grass. The land to the east has shifted — the forest is closer here, its treeline pressing nearer to the road than it did north of the Way Station, the open rolling hills giving way to older, denser growth. Wildflowers still dot the grass on either side of the path, and the road itself remains worn and well-traveled. Ahead, at the road's distant end where the cliffside levels and the land opens, the faint shapes of rooftops and a turning windmill break the horizon. Pine Loft. Still a day's walk, but visible now — a promise at the edge of the world.

DM Notes

This stretch of Oceanview Run carries the same general safety as the north — regular City Watch patrols, low encounter rate under normal campaign conditions. However, the forest pressing closer to the east is worth noting. It is near enough here that something could emerge from the treeline before a traveler had much warning.

•  Pine Loft is visible on the horizon from this stretch — a good moment to describe it to players for the first time if this is their initial approach.
