Lighthouse Interior

Read to Players

As the large wooden door pushes open, you're welcomed into a warm stone room that looks as though it should be cold. A large fireplace burns to the right, the only source of heat in the solid stone room. A metal spiral stairwell runs upwards and out of sight with a chain across the bottom step with a sign that reads "No Trespassing". A single table sits in the room, six chairs arranged around it. And on the back wall, behind the stairs, a stack of crates stands — a storage of supplies for the mages who run the lighthouse.

DM Notes

The interior of the Beacon Lighthouse is maintained by the Order of the Pale Flame, a small guild of mages contracted by the city to keep the great light burning. The fireplace, the table, and the crates are all in regular use. This room serves as the entry point, the common area, and the supply depot — the mages who live and work here don't need much more than that.

•  The "No Trespassing" sign on the spiral stair chain is a genuine warning. The upper levels are the mages' working space, and they take uninvited visitors seriously. Getting past the chain is possible — getting past what's above it is another matter. The Lighthouse Upper Landing is the next floor up.
