Pine Loft
Pine Loft South

Read to Players
“The road continues south from the town center, quieter here than the northern end, the shops spaced a little farther apart. Stone porches and packed dirt give way to rougher ground as the street approaches the tree line. On the left, a stone mason works the front of his shop beneath a sign that reads No Stone Left Unturned — slabs and cut blocks stacked in neat rows along the porch, a cartwheel half-carved with a decorative pattern leaning against the wall. Across the road, a tanner has hides stretched and drying on wooden frames outside his shop, his workbench visible through the open front. The smell of cured leather and sawdust carries down the street. Further south, the dirt road narrows and the buildings give way entirely. A wooden guard tower rises at the end of the street, Pine Loft's green flag with its white pine snapping above it. Beyond the gate, the forest begins — dense and dark even in daylight, the tree line pressing close on both sides of the road as it disappears into the trees heading south.”
DM Notes
Pine Loft South is the quieter, working end of town. The stone mason and tanner serve the town's practical needs — construction, leather goods, repairs. This end of the road also marks the boundary of Pine Loft's safety. The guard tower watches the southern gate and the forest road beyond it. What lives in that forest is up to you.
• The forest south of Pine Loft is the Lonely Path Pines — unpatrolled, genuinely wild, and accessible from the southern gate. The king's road ends at the tree line. What happens inside is a different matter.
